My Opinion on Purity

Purity Part 1

Hello my adorable Thinkers!

Today’s post is going to be the beginning of a new series I am writing about my opinion on purity. I want to first define what I mean by purity. When I say purity (in this context) I am talking about the way the Bible speaks of living our lives. As it says in Micah 6:8 “He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” NASB. My discussion of purity I have here is essentially my pursuit of the way God wants me to walk with Him. I do not hold anyone to these thoughts or standards besides myself. My goal in publishing this is to encourage people to think about these things so that they can ascertain the way God wants them to live. A lot of the points in this discussion will pertain to relationships since that was my topic of interest.

In my scrutiny of purity I find it very important that I do not only apply it to women. I believe that every part of purity applies equally to both men and women. If I were to say that purity only applies to women I would be degrading men at the same time and visa versa. The only exception to this would be where scripture clearly speaks directly to either men or women.

There are three larger points of purity that I will examine separately: Physical purity, mental purity, and spiritual purity. Each of these larger points will also be broken down into smaller topics as well. I will link the video that first got me thinking of purity being more than just the physical aspect down below. I do want to put a disclaimer out because I do not agree with everything in the video, it simply caused me to cogitate.

Since this is a discussion I would love to hear your thoughts on what I have said or on the topic of purity in general. I would ask that you be civil and consider that these are my opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so please be kind with your comments.
